REVIVE WELLNESS
My role: Branding | UX/UI Design | Website Design | Front-End & Backend Development
Creating a wellness brand from identity to digital experience.
Revive Wellness was an opportunity to create a complete digital brand experience from the ground up.
Rather than treating the identity and website as separate projects, I developed them together — creating the logo, visual language and digital experience as one cohesive system.
The project allowed me to combine brand thinking, UX/UI design and front-end and backend development, taking the idea from initial visual direction through to a fully responsive website with a custom booking system and integrated database.
Building the brand
The identity needed to communicate wellness without relying on the visual clichés commonly associated with the sector.
I developed a clean, contemporary visual direction built around simplicity, balance and a natural aesthetic. The logo, typography, colour palette and supporting graphic elements were designed as a flexible system that could work consistently across both digital, social and physical brand touch-points.
Designing the experience
With the visual identity established, I translated the brand into a digital experience.
I considered the hierarchy of information, navigation and page structure before developing the interface. Reusable components, consistent spacing and a clear typographic hierarchy helped create an experience that feels calm and considered while making content easy to navigate.
Designing responsively from the outset also meant considering how layouts, imagery, typography and interactions should adapt rather than simply shrink across different screen sizes.
From design to code
A key part of the project was taking ownership beyond the design stage and building the website myself.
The front end was developed in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, with responsive layouts, interaction states and accessibility considered throughout. I also built a custom booking system using Supabase, connecting the interface to a live database and server-side booking logic.
The system manages class capacity, live availability and future class selection, while preventing duplicate bookings and validating whether a returning client is incorrectly selecting a free first class. Transactional emails are sent automatically after a successful booking, with different content depending on whether the client is attending for the first time.
Building the system introduced a different layer of problem-solving beyond the interface. Challenges included keeping availability accurate as classes passed, ensuring bookings were written to the correct class, protecting database operations from the browser, and handling booking conflicts without creating a poor user experience.
Working through those problems gave me a stronger understanding of how front-end interfaces, databases and server-side logic work together as one product rather than as separate disciplines.
